Elden Ring is the most robust magic system of any FromSoftware game so far, with all manner of spectacular spells to cast. Not all of them are very good, though. In fact, some are arguably useless, and it’s often hard to tell which ones are worth investing in. Here we’ll be reviewing what we consider Elden Ring in best sorceries.
Elden Ring in The Best Sorceries
Glintstone Pebble (INT 14)

You might start off with the Glinstone Pebble as an Astrologer, but don’t be fooled into thinking this entry-level spell isn’t the best in the game. It’s the most FP efficient for the damage it inflicts, and it will be the level of your character and staff that you have at the end of the game, and the impressive DPS for hitting it. The Glinstone Pebble is your workhorse spell, and if you haven’t already got it as an Astrologer, then purchase it from Sorceress Sellen in Waypoint Ruins for 1,000 Runes.
Swift Glintstone Shard (INT 12)

Essentially a faster-firing version of the Glintstone Pebble, the Swift Glintstone Shard fires projectiles at faster speeds and only costs 5FP per cast. Another great spell for making it is the enemies of Clusters at Spam. You can buy it from Miriel, the Pastor of Vows, the giant tortoise at the Lakes of the Church of the Lakes, which you have handed over to the Academy Scroll, which is just a few blocks from the very first Liuna Site of Grace ( directly north of Stormveil Castle).
Magic Glintblade (INT 14)

If you chose the Prisoner class, then you are already aware of how powerful the Magic Glintblade spell is, but for those who didn’t, then we highly recommend adding it to your arsenal. It has two unique properties: it fires from the top of the spellcasters head, and it fires two projectiles at once. Both of these elements combine for a spell that can prevent and damage enemies from damage. You can buy it for 3,00 Runes from Miriel, the Paster of Vows, the giant Tortoise at the Church of the Vows of Lurnia.
Carian Slicer (INT 14)

A spell that turns your staff into a magical melee blade that slices through enemies only for a tiny slither of FP per strike. The Carian Slicer is a go-to spell for basically any type of enemy, so long as you don’t mind getting up close and personal (something akin to a magic build). You Can Purchase It From The Royal House Scroll For 1,500 Runes For The Waypoint Ruins In The Sorceress Sellen, But Only After Handing Over The Royal House Scroll, Which Is Just Found In The South-East Of The Waypoint Ruins With A Large Structure.
Ambush Shard (INT 23)

If you’ve ever been frustrated by enemies who dodge ranged spells then the Ambush Shard is a perfect solution. It is a Glintstone Pebble for a similar amount of damage from behind strikes enemies, and they can’t really avoid it. You can find The Witchbane Ruins in the Underground Jail in a Corpse on the Weeping Peninsula. It’s a really easy location to zip through if you’re level 25+.
Rock Sling (INT 18)

Easily one of the most powerful early game spells, The Rock Sling is a Gravity Spell that is perfect for combining with Meteorite Staff. Both the staff and the spell can be found in Caelid. We have a detailed guide that offers you step-by-step directions. This should be your go-to spell for boss encounters right up until the mid-game.
Comet Azur (INT 60)

Perhaps the best late-game spell, which is excellent versus the game’s hardest boss encounters and enemy types. The Comet Azur hits have a lot of damage but have a long cast time and drains a bit of FP per use. Still, there’s no doubt it’s one of the best spells in the game. To get to Comet Azur, go to The Hermit Village in Eastern Mt. Gelmir and then head north, past the Demi-Human Queen miniboss. Look for The Primeval Sorcerer Azur Site’s Grace with Azure’s Corpse; The spell is close by.
Scholar’s Armament (INT 12)

For those who have opted for, say, a Dex / Int build or some sort of hybrid setup that allows them to wield powerful melee weapons in addition to spellcasting, the Scholar’s Armament is a must-have. It adds magic damage to weapons that don’t already have a buff (such as magic, faith, fire, etc). This increases the damage output and can be extremely powerful when paired with certain combinations of weapons. You can buy it from Sorceress Selen at 3,000 Runes at Waypoint Ruins.
Rennala’s Full Moon (INT 70)

A powerful spell that you will be able to use until the end of the game, Rennala’s Full Moon. The spell has a very long cast time, transforming the player-character into a moon that then launches and hits massive damage for enemies. It’s a fun spell to cast, but it’s one you need to use, given how long it takes.
