It’s a pretty exciting time for Overwatch fans, as the Overwatch 2 closed PvP beta is now some of the new features to check out for the underway and players who choose it. For instance, Overwatch 2 now has a new ping system Better communication to allow, as well as the shift to 5v5 battles, new maps, tons of character changes, and the introduction of Sojourn as a brand new hero on the roster.
Using the Ping System in Overwatch 2
When pointing your reticle to a location, character, or point of interest, click on your scroll wheel or middle mouse button to ping it. This will automatically notify your teammates that you’ve pinned something to a point of interest.
Alternatively, you can hold down your middle mouse button to bring up a radial menu of commands.
While holding it down, move your mouse and hover over the command you want, then release the middle mouse button once you’ve made your selection and send it out. The commands allow you to get a bit more specific with your ping, such as informing your teammates to attack or defend a particular area, or to inform them of the incoming danger.
The ping system is invaluable for team communication, especially for players who may or may not want to use their mic to talk to their teammates.
That’s all you need to know about how to ping in Overwatch 2. Be sure to search Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
