The camera often fights you, causing you to lose temporarily or lose control of your character or move the wrong way. Thankfully, there’s an in-game setting that fixes that very issue.
Elden Ring in Turning Off Automatic Camera Rotation
The setting that you’re looking for is Camera Auto Wall Recovery. This is a setting that has been turned on by default, and it’s been a staple since FromSoft games since the Dark Souls days. It’s also the number one setting that you should turn off in a second.
Press the Options button, then select System. Under the Camera Options section, look for the option that says Camera Auto Wall Recovery, then press left or right on the d-pad to disable it, and you’re all set.
From this point on, you shouldn’t have any trouble with weird camera angles when you’re traversing narrow or close quarters spaces in the Elden Ring, and you should give yourself an easier time with the game overall.
