Is Ghostwire: Tokyo Coming to PS4?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it looks like Ghostwire: Tokyo will not be coming to PS4. Don’t shoot the messenger!

When Bethesda announced the game at E3 Back in 2019, it was confirmed to be a PC and PS5 release. In fact, the Japanese studio described the game as a “PS5 console exclusive,” which implies that it will only launch one console.

Since then – and following the publisher’s acquisition of Microsoft – we’ve learned that the title will be a timed PS5 exclusive, meaning that at some point in the future, the game will likely launch on Xbox systems.

However, much like the Deathloop – which was also a Bethesda-published PS5 console exclusive – there is no indication that it will ever make its way to Sony’s last-gen system.

Why Is Ghostwire: Tokyo Not Coming to PS4?

It’s probably the next-gen game like Ghostwire: Tokyo would have run on last-gen hardware like the PS4. Ultimately, the game was developed with the PS5’s architecture in mind, so the porting it to the PS4 may prove challenging to the development team.
