Netflix offers $ 72M to acquire a game developer

Netflix has to buy Next Games for about $ 72 million.

The proposed deal, which expands the streaming giants of push into gaming, is expected to close in the second quarter of the year. Netflix expresses its interest in live sports, especially Formula One.

  • Netflix hired Mike Verdu as vice president of Facebook’s virtual reality and artificial reality content, as well as the company’s vice president of games.

Verdu argued that the acquisition will let Netflix make its own games, expressing it in a blog post that will help our members enjoy building a library of games.

At the time of the acquisition of Night School Studio, Verdu said Netflix will continue to work with developers around the world and for a wide range of limited edition games.
