The Riot Games opens new offices in Asia, and the new office is expanded to support publishing efforts

Riot Games stated plans to reorganize its business in Asia Pacific (APAC). This includes expanding the publisher’s reach in Japan and India.

The company will establish new offices in the Philippines, India, Indonesia and Thailand. Riot Games will also redouble its publishing efforts in the region, but also on a global scale.

Alex Kraynov, director of the Emerging Markets of Riot Games, was the new Managing Director of APAC.

According to the publisher, the diversification of Riot Games’ operating model will affect its other business operations such as games, entertainment, esports and enterprise. The Asian market is likely to see huge growth, especially for the mobile sector.

Riot Games is mostly known for its wide variety of esports titles, including League of Legends and Valorant. The Publisher has delved into a wide range of games: Legends of Runterra, TeamFight Tactics, Wild Rift and The Legendary Relic. The company operates several sports teams and tournaments.

Riot Games Managing Director for Asia-Pacific, Alex Kraynov commented: This is a natural step forward in our publishing business in Southeast Asia, and Riot recognizes that APAC can become the largest region in the world for Riot. This region is complex, with large gaming centers that have varied needs and a strong appetite for mobile games.

Kraynov noted that Riot Games’ offices in Singapore and Japan have worked hard on releasing new games and creating new esports leagues. The increased presence in the region shows Riot Games looking to double down on esports and publishing, although no future plans have been announced.

Riot has made a big effort in localization of its services and recently opened three major broadcast studios in Ireland. According to the APAC region, the plan is open to a third broadcaster, according to the company. These centers are aimed at developing esports content and are supported by local offices. The aPAC is the headquarters of Riot Games in Singapore.

In addition to Kraynov, Riot Games commissioned many new people to expand the APAC. Shinji Komiyama is the director of the state and Jennifer Poulson the director of publishing in the region.

Esports Insider says that this reorganization is focused on game publishing, and it shows that Riot is serious about being present everywhere. More than twenty countries now have an uninterrupted coverage and production of esports and games. The new offices could signal a greater focus on mobile games. Wild Rift is still struggling to compete with Mobile Legends in Asia.
