Healing and maximizing health in Tunic is pretty important if you’re going to beat the various boss battles in the game’s mystical world. There are a few ways you can healand one very hidden way to increase your max healthand this guide will tell you how to do both.
Healing in Tunic
To heal, you can use one of your Health Potion flasks, the RB by pressing the screen in the upper right-hand corner.
You’ll also find red berries opening up treasure chests around the world, or visiting the creepy wolf ghost vendor in different locations (such as the windmill).
You can then open your inventory, assign them to one of your three face buttons, and then press that to use them whenever you need. This is especially handy when you’ve emptied your health potion flasks.
Alternatively, you can immediately refill your health bar and replenish your Health Potion flasks by restoring one of the fox shrines dotted throughout the world (also shown in the image above).
Keep in mind, however, that when you rest, these shrines will be defeated (except for boss battles), just like they do in a FromSoftware game like Elden Ring or Dark Souls III.
Increasing Max Health
To increase your max health bar, you need to visit one of those fox shrines, press LB when standing in front of it and select the red flower item. Press A and as long as you’ve got an orange diamond-like currency that will kill your enemies, you can afford to buy the item and hand over the currency to the level.
The bottom right-hand corner of each of these items is a different one from your stats. For the health, you want the pink / red flower, which we’ve circled.
Finding these flowers, along with other stat-boosting items, is simply a case of exploring the world and opening up various treasure chests.
