Since Xiaomi launched its first 120W fast-charging smartphone in India, the Xiaomi 11i Hypercharge, the company has regularly enhanced its smartphone camera performance and battery capacity.
Surge C2 chip
As reported recently, the company plans to introduce the successor chip to Surge C1, the Surge C2 ISP, with its MIX 5 series. Xiaomi intends to improve the performance of its MIX 5 series smartphones by using this chip.
During the MIX 5’s launch, there will be a new model, the MIX 5 Pro (L1). It will use Surge C2’s processor. This processor will not be available on the MIX 5 (L1A) base model. Two major differences between the two MIX 5 devices are the camera sensor and the camera processor.
Previous, the MIPISEL feature was available in the Mi Code of the MIX FOLD and MIX Flip smartphones which show that both the devices have Surge C1 code exists in the camera-related section. Now the same code has been spotted for Mi MIX 5 Pro, so we can assume that this device will use its own camera chip.
Xiaomi Surge C1
Xiaomi launched Surge C1 in March 2021, the first of its own image processing chips. With the improved 3A algorithm and low-light focus capabilities, image quality is significantly improved. It also features an auto exposure and auto white balance feature.
